Sonja Van Guilder

Sonja doesn't approach watercolor painting timidly, but with great purpose and intentional color. She is influenced by shadows, patterns, form and text. Whether through illustrative landscapes or her love of contemporary calligraphy, the relationship between nature, art and various texts has been her inspiration. She graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in Studio Art. She has lived in Hudson for over 20 years with her husband and their four grown children.
