Featuring Douglas & Renee Sigwarth (glass blowers), and Kimberly Tschida Petters (painter).
The works of Kimberly, and Douglas & Renee are minimalist in their imagery and both express a very free-flowing, modern style. In addition, the artists elicit an evocative response by the admirer. However, there are some definite contrasts between the work.
Kimberly paints landscapes as she ponders subtleties in layers and light. She is mesmerized by the expansive space of the land. Her contemporary, quiet pieces are not of anywhere in particular, but they are familiar and have the ability to create a universal experience.
In contrast, Douglas and Renee’s work is bold and bright. It is worked skillfully in a trusting relationship that allows the artists to follow their intuition as they guide their fluid medium to its final state.
Bold versus subtle. Expansive versus focused. An individual versus a partnership. These are concepts to be considered when viewing this dynamic contemporary show of contrasts.
We will be following COVID-19 guidelines with masks and physical distancing. If you would rather see the show virtually, a video will be posted.
